The Anderson crew are pictured below at Casper,WY on 12Jan45.



Late arrivals, when they showed up at Harrington in March of 1945, Varner and Auira were assigned to other crews and were replaced by Blackard and Roos.  Anderson was killed in a takeoff crash of B24 42-51251 on the night of 26/27 April 1945 after which the crew had to fly with a number of other pilots, the last being John Nutt, who flew them home in July of 1945.

Nutt's 1st crew finished their tour on 1Dec44 and returned to the Zone of the Interior shortly afterward; Nutt remained in the ETO.
