The crew are shown above with B24 42-94981, their "flyover" aircraft which was left at Eye. Chrisman and Mosher were released at Cheddington. Photo courtesy of Bill and Tina Gold, relatives of the Siebert family. The McNiel crew were the first combat loss of the 850th BS. On their third combat mission into France during the night of June 18/19 1944, their plane hit a tree in the DZ and crashed, all aboard were killed.
