The picture is believed to have been taken before Harrington, when the unit was at Alconbury or Watton. As Squadron C.O. Boone would fly fewer missions during the year, and was eventually elevated to a Group position in the fall of 1944, finishing out his time at Harrington in July of 1945. All told Boone flew 95 Anti-Submarine missions and 31 Carpetbagger missions.
Shull became Squadron Bombardier early in 1944, and Edwards became the Squadron Navigator. Edwards was killed in an accidental non-duty fall in early September of 1944. Boone's collection of papers and pictures is one of largest
turned in to date.
