856th/858th BSs
Orcutt Crew

The crew's arrival at Station 179 probably occurred in early 1945. Orcutt's name appears only twice in the Late Period Log, both after VE day, and the second for the return trip to the Zone of the Interior. The plane is believed to be B24 41-28770, a former 44th BG plane before arriving at Harrington. Joe Lamarre was photographed twice with this plane while fueling up in Iceland, once before the tail number and once with the nose art. Crew names transcribed from Special Orders #124,Station 179 dtd 11Jun45 which transferred them from the 856th BS to the 858th BS.
